wooops

yesterday's training walk didn't go as well as i had hoped... i decided to wear my pink Walk shoes instead of the gray ones i had been wearing... well, the pink ones are a bit smaller, and with my thick "running" socks, they were pretty snug... and caused lots of blisters... ugh... i made it about 6 miles before i decided i wouldn't make it the full 11 miles for the week... the bad part is, that when i realized we needed to cut the walk short, we were still 3 miles from the closest metro station... and, on my "everyday walk" on saturday (only 4 miles) i pulled a muscle behind my knee... it didn't really start hurting till we were almost done with the training walk... but boy does it hurt today... oh well, i've learned my lesson... don't wear shoes that are too tight, and don't push yourself to do any more than what your body will let you... i'm taking a few days off from walking this week, so hopefully i'll get healed up just fine...

ooo... and last friday, we got surprise profit sharing checks from work!!! i looooove money i'm not expecting... so i went ahead and bought my plane tickets to Indy at the end of May... i'm getting super excited about that vacation!!!

and i'm also excited about my trip to NYC this weekend!!! man, i am just one travelin' chica... hehe...

I already sent you the "blistering" email, but wanted to agree with you on the pushing stuff. I was waaayy too Type-A when I did the walk and didn't let myself enjoy it as much as I should have.

Yes, Jerri is a Type A. Always has been!! I am glad she is now taking time out for herself and doing nice things like taking a vacation to California!
So, learn from the best, April. Don't push yourself too hard and stop and smell the roses along your walk. You have done such an awesome job of preparing for this walk and doing the fundraising. It has truly been impressive.
Now, go soak in a luxurious tub of bubbles!
